Air filters can be easily overlooked. They often don't get replaced until they are absolutely clogged with dirt and soot. If  these dust particles allowed to get inside the engine, even in microscopic sizes, they can damage pistons, cylinder walls and and all other moving parts of the engine... 

A clogged air filter generates :

·         An increase in the pressure drop during engine air intake

Minimum initial efficiencies of Myer  heavy-duty air filters are approaching 99%. Then, as contaminants begin to accumulate in the filter media,these dirt particles decrease the size of the media´s openings and making it more difficult still for even the smallest particles to pass through. As a result, the media´s efficiency has actually been increased.

Heavy-Duty Primary Media routinely achieve initial efficiencies of 99.0% and higher; as the filter loads with dirt, the accumulative efficiency of the media is normally 99.90% or higher.

Heavy-Duty Secondary Media typically achieve an accumulative efficiency of 90.0% to 95%. Engine manufacturers also specify the "maximum allowable initial restriction." Myer filters meet all these manufacturers´ requirements.
